Brazilian Vivacqua makes car debut with ART at Most

by Peter Allen

Brazilian karter Thiago Vivacqua makes his car racing debut in the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC round at Most this weekend with the ART Junior Team.

16-year-old Vivacqua has graduated from French firm’s factory karting squad where he’s been racing in the KF category. He’s also been working with the All-Road Academy, an off-shoot of ART co-owner Nicolas Todt’s driver management company.

Other than titles in Brazil, he was runner-up to new NEC rival Dennis Olsen in last year’s WSK Final Cup.

Having previously tests with the ART Junior squad, Vivacqua has also now had the benefit of the NEC test day at Most on Thursday and free practice on Friday. In the second practice session he was a promising 14th fastest out of 35 drivers, only a second off the pace set by team-mate Esteban Ocon.

Vivacqua is one of six drivers being fielded by the ART Junior Team in the Czech Republic, along with Ocon, Andrea Pizzitola, Tanart Sathienthirakul, Nicolas Jamin and Alberto di Folco.
