Ferrari junior Antonio Fuoco has all but secured the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps title, having won the second race of the penultimate round of the series at Mugello.

Again starting from pole with Koiranen’s Nyck de Vries alongside him on front row, Fuoco made a stellar getaway from the line and was comfortably leading at the end of the first lap. From that point on, the Italian enjoyed a relaxing Sunday drive, taking his sixth victory of the year.

De Vries was second at the checkered flag, with Pierre Gasly rounding out the podium. Jenzer’s Kevin Jorg came fourth, with Luca Ghiotto postponing Fuoco’s title celebrations by finishing fifth.

ARTA’s William Vermont took sixth, with Prema driver Bruno Bonifacio ruling himself out of title contention with seventh place. Ukyo Sasahara, Parth Ghorpade and Dario Capitanio rounded out the top ten.

In the standings, Fuoco leads Ghiotto by 49 points ahead of the final round, where a maximum of 50 points will be available.
